 Global Strategic Insights was founded by Dr. Khaled Sakr is a former senior official at the IMF. He was Assistant Director in the European Department, Division Chief in the Middle East and Central Asia Department, Front Office Advisor in the Communications Department, Senior Advisor to the Dean of the Executive Board, and Senior Economist in the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department. During his almost three decades at the IMF, he led missions to many advanced, emerging, and developing economies. He also assumed various leading corporate roles, including Senior Personnel Manager, Senior Budget Manger, Senior information Manager, and Departmental Liaise with the inter-departmental Vulnerability Analysis Working Group and the Corporate Risk Management Office. He holds a PhD in economics and an MPhil in the Economics and Politics of Development from the University of Cambridge, and an MSC and BSc from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the University of Cairo. Dr. Sakr is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council in Washington DC and a member of the board of directors at the Central Bank of Egypt.
