Our Mission
Global Strategic Insights is a consulting firm based in the Greater Washington DC area. It has an expansive network of experienced senior advisors and high-quality technical consultants world-wide. We provide advice on economic reforms, negotiation, public communication, economic institutions' governance, and human resources management. We also organize training on engagement and negotiation preparedness as well as capacity-building for future leaders, and provide insights about the operations of international institutions, including their global, regional, and country-level economic and financial surveillance as well as the design of reform programs and public communication.
Dr. Khaled I. Sakr
Global Strategic Insights was founded by Dr. Khaled Sakr, a former senior official at the IMF. Currently, Dr. Sakr is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council in Washington DC, a member of the Egyptian Prime Minister's Macroeconomic Advisory Committee, and a member of the Board of Directors at the Central Bank of Egypt and its Monetary Policy Committee. During his 28 year tenure at the IMF, he was the Assistant Director in the European Department, Division Chief in the Middle East and Central Asia Department, Front Office Advisor in the Communications Department, Senior Advisor to the Dean of the Executive Board, and Senior Economist in the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department. At the IMF, Dr. Sakr led missions to many advanced, emerging, and developing economies. He also assumed various leading corporate roles, including Senior Personnel Manager, Senior Budget Manger, Senior Information Manager, and Departmental Liaise with the Inter-Departmental Vulnerability Analysis Working Group and the Corporate Risk Management Office. He holds a PhD in Economics and an MPhil in the Economics and Politics of Development from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc and BSc from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at the University of Cairo.
